Your First Class

When should I arrive?

  • We recommend arriving around 5–10 minutes before your first class, giving you time to find us, settle in and meet your guide

  • Once you've parked, walk back up the lane towards the studio, come up the steps and head inside

  • Your guide will welcome you, show you around and help you get comfortable before the class begins

  • If you're new to Yoga, Pilates or Reformer Pilates, please don't worry. We welcome people of all abilities and experience levels, and there's no expectation that you'll know what you're doing!

What should I wear?

  • Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely

  • You don't need any special clothing or equipment to get started

  • For Yoga and Mat Pilates, you're welcome to practise barefoot

  • For Reformer Pilates, we ask you to please wear grip socks for comfort and stability. They are available to purchase at the studio or online here for £5

What should I bring?

  • Just yourself, some water and anything you might like for your own comfort. There are storage lockers for your possessions, but please note valuables are left at your own risk

  • We provide mats, blocks, bolsters and other equipment, so there's no need to bring your own unless you'd prefer to

What to expect from your class

  • At Flow, we believe movement should feel accessible, enjoyable and supportive, whatever your starting point

  • Our classes are taught by experienced, knowledgeable guides who will offer options and adaptations to help you find what works for your body

Yoga

Our Yoga classes offer different approaches to movement, strength, flexibility and relaxation. Whether you're looking for something gentle or a more dynamic practice, there's space to explore at your own pace

Mat Pilates

Our Mat Pilates classes focus on building strength, improving mobility and developing body awareness through controlled, purposeful movement. Exercises can be adapted to suit different levels of experience

Barre

Our Barre classes combine elements of Pilates, dance-inspired movement and strength work. You don't need any dance experience to join us

Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates uses a specialist spring-loaded machine to provide both support and resistance during movement

If you've never used a Reformer before, don't worry. Your guide will introduce you to the equipment, explain how it works and help you feel comfortable using it

Prefer a more gentle class?

If you'd prefer a slower pace or a little more support, our Gentle Yoga, Gentle Pilates and Gentle Reformer classes can be a lovely place to start.

What if I’m a complete beginner?

You're very welcome!

Everyone starts somewhere, and you don't need to be flexible, fit or experienced to enjoy moving with us

If you're unsure which class would suit you best, we're always happy to help you choose

What if I have an injury or health concern?

Please let your guide know before class if you have any injuries, health conditions, are pregnant or have any concerns about participating

We can often suggest adaptations to help you move comfortably and confidently

As a physiotherapy-led studio, we value thoughtful, informed movement, but group classes aren't a substitute for individual assessment or treatment where that's needed

Bookings & Membership

All classes can be booked online through our booking system Instabook

We offer flexible class credits, memberships and introductory offers, so you can find an option that works for you

If you're new to Flow, our introductory offers are a lovely way to explore the studio and find the classes you enjoy

Need to change your class

We understand that plans sometimes change. If you need to cancel or rearrange a class, you can manage your booking through your Instabook account

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Classes cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without cancellation, will be charged in accordance with our cancellation policy

Questions before you come?

If there's anything you're unsure about, whether that's choosing a class, finding the studio or discussing your individual needs, please get in touch

We're always happy to help and look forward to welcoming you to Flow!
